Ours will freeze and lose signal, the weather has to be flippin bad though...like a summer thunderstorm when the rain is really hard.

Re: Doh! Heavy rain = NO sky signal
All that freezing and loss of signal might not happen with a zone 2 dish.

thats 12 cm or about 5" in old money.
It sounds like a few of you need your dish alignment tweaking.
I could make some money out of this thread

No I tend to tweak mainly for fun. I have been tweaking for many years and if I do say so myself am very good at it

Re: Doh! Heavy rain = NO sky signal
if your dish is correctly positioned and the cable from the LNB to teh receiver is in good conditon you shouldn't get any problems in heavy rain. If you are unlucky to live where there are trees in teh line of sight then that can cause an issue but simply repositioning teh dish can make a massive difference. YOu really need a decent installer who knows his job.

Re: Doh! Heavy rain = NO sky signal
Margateret I had this problem and then the signal went altogether. When I got a chappy out to it, apparently it hadnt been installed properly and rain had got in the cable and had leaked through. You could see all the rust on the box where the water had gone in so might be worth just checking that.
Didnt cost too much to sort but i could have neded up having to buy a new box, but luckily caught it in time

Is trying to find a decent sky installer as difficult as trying to find a decent plumber/heating or gas engineer? I know how hard that is, I spend my life putting thier jobs right!
