Dvd

Got a panasonic DVD player. Haven't used it for ages, but went to use it the other night. Relised there was no scart lead connecting it to the TV, so got one. Switched it on and everything is black and white. Anyone any idea how to rectify this, or do i need a new one? Hope i've explained properly.

Thanks

Re: Dvd

Have you tried re-tuning?
Also have you got a Sky box or Freeview?

Re: Dvd

Have tried retuning it, no luck. Have got virgin cable. The scart lead is pushed in as far as it can go, haven't thought that it could be broken though. Will check it, by using another scart lead. Thanks

Re: Dvd

Your settings in either the DVD or the player may be wrong. Check both are set to the PAL colour system, and that the RGB settings are the same.

It's a while since I had any analogue equipment here so I'm jusat going from memory...

Don't bother getting another cable just yet. Unless you can see the pins are bent, it's probably not that.

Re: Dvd

That sounds complicted studio25, but will get the manuels later and hopefully do it. Have just checked the scart by using another lead, (seem to have a few spares, since going digital). Hopefully i won't be asking does anyone know anyone who does DVD repairs. Thanks

Re: Dvd

Thanks to all, have managed to sort it. Couldn't figure out the manuels studio25, but figured if it's broke messing around wouldn't break it anymore. But whatever buttons i've pressed, seemed to have done the trick.
