If you have got a build up of wax, you will need to use Otex drops for one week before the Docs with think about syringing them...and it does sound like a build of wax.
I had a similar problem a couple of years ago and it is just as you have described it.

Emzy if you had problems as a child just be wary of syringing. I had a lot of trouble with mine and my eardrums ended up perforated. Years later my doctor said they needed syringing, unfortunately he didn't check my records and just did them. Found out later was not meant to get water in them so it really hurt. Just make sure your eardrums are okay before getting them done

Its a good job you let emzy know this-she could have gone through the same thing as you

They dont seem to bad this morning, however I have woken up absolutely smothered in a cold so I think that may be to blame will have to wait for the cold to clear now before i go doctors

Thanks for the warning though, I meant problems by earache not major problems as a child luckily but lets hope this clears with the cold

That is what I meant Emzy I had the same problems with my ears, I was not reffering to anything other than you ears
