Fence Panels

I've just replaced about 15 fence panels because the old ones were getting on a bit. I've rang the council they wont pick them up and they say the tip won't take them as they have been treated in the past (a long time ago) !!!

What are you meant to do I can't really have a fire on the back garden ??

Re: Fence Panels

I don't think that advice is correct, they have a skip for wood at Whinney Hill and I have never been asked if the wood I am putting in has been treated. I would think burning it in the garden releases more toxic fumes. Most wood has been treated in some way, either pressure treated at source or coated and painted.

Me and a mate demolished an old garden shed a few months ago, it went in the wood skip at Whinney Hill, apart from which, if, and its a big if, what the council jobsworth said is true, there's also a non recyclable skip up there....sounds to me like you got hold of the office temp

Re: Fence Panels

Just take it to the tip and put it in the wood skip. No one's ever questioned me. I've chucked all sorts of bits of wood in there.
