Talking Flooded fields

On the way down this morning a lot of the fields and grazing between Penrith and Lancaster were flood. Now questions for you all;

1 Where would the sheep sleep?

2 If they had to take to the water will they sink or swim?

3 Anyone know a good recipe for cooking wild fowl as it was abundent?

4 Do I get plaudits for bringing the sun with me?

1. A proper man wouldn't give them time to sleep

2. Depends on the temparature of the water. If it's too warm they may shrink

3. No wild fowl's where you are going today, Evil is out on loan

4. The sun has gone in, have you left already ?

Re: Flooded fields

Wonder what would happen if I cobbed em in the tumble dryier instead of drip dry?

On a serious note though the lambing season is just round the corner so if all goes bad then up goes the prices.

Don't sheep usually graze on higher ground above flood level?

Re: Flooded fields

Of course they have a rough time. It's rough ground that can't be used for arable farming.

Re: Flooded fields

Sheep spend their summer holidays out on the higher ground, (this is so that they don't get pestered by people in caravans).

The winter months however are spent on the lower ground because it is warmer for them and easier for the farmer to look after them with extra feeding etc.

Also we have just past a very busy period for the farmer hiring out these sweet little animals to primary schools schools so that they can star in non-P.C. nativity plays!
