GHDs
Anyone know of any places that repair hair straighteners. Got a pair of GHDs and there's something wrong with the wire, don't know any thing about electrics so not even going there. Thanks

Re: GHDs
Only come to see what GHD's were
Is the wire broken where it goes into the appliance?
Mrs H is always doing it with the hair dryer, just needs taking apart and the wire cutting back a bit and putting back in.
In our case its caused by her wrapping the wire too tightly round the dryer when shes putting it away, it kinks the wire and eventually breaks it

Re: GHDs
The GHDs are about 18months old. For about a week have had to twiddle the wire to get them to work (i know i should have stopped using them), this morning they sparked so won't use them now. It is the wire end that goes into the straighteners, but that part is moulded. If it was the plug there would be no problem.
Don't want to have to buy new ones with it been so close to Christmas, Jae.

Yeah, thats the problem we get, the wire is broken, its easily fixed, just open the appliance, remove the wire, strip it back beyond the bad part then re-wire it back in

Re: GHDs
Does the wire rotate in the end of them or is it fixed?

Re: GHDs
Then you will struggle to get them repaired as you can't just shorten the wire. The end of the wire will be moulded into the bit that allows it to swivel.
