Re: HELP - I need a recipe

Treacle Toffee

1 lb Dark brown sugar
4 oz Butter
4 Dessert spoonfuls treacle
4 tb Milk
2 tb Water

Melt butter in pan. Add all other ingredients. Stir only until the sugar dissolves. Do not stir after sugar has dissolved. Turn gas low and allow to boil for about 30 minutes. Test in COLD water in a cup until toffee breaks between fingers. Pour into butter-greased pan. Harden in refrigerator and break into pieces when ready.

Re: HELP - I need a recipe

Thanks Mick. What it is the pub near where i live is having a bonfire and fireworks display and has said that on bonfire night we can have a stall selling jacket spuds to raise money for the school and i've got donations of 2 ovenfuls of jackets, 2 pans of black peas and chilli to go on the jacket spuds. And i thought we could do some parkin, treacle toffee and fudge to go with it all. The more money for the school the better! Now i have to find some volunteers!
