Re: Holland's Pies Vans

Sorry, but I can't get enthusiastic about a pie and pudding company naming their delivery vans.

Oh, God, NOooo, you've opened the door for another newbie thread, why can't you just leave well alone? Do you not realise how much karma I end up with?

I think one van should be named Accrington Stanley......because everyone knows Accrington Stanley....almost everywhere I have been in the world...if you mention Accrington the word Stanley soon follows
I was down at my local last nite, dressed as a nun with handcuffs instead of a rosary ... Halloween, eh. Anyway, some guy asked where in Lancashire I was from. He was sober enough to recognize the remmnants of my accent So I told him, "Clayton-le-Moors ... bottom end." He didn't know Clayton. He asked the name of the nearest major town he might know. Just for the halibut I said, "Oswaldtwistle" Next, I tried "Accrington" ... and ... you guessed it ... he said "Oh, Accrington Stanley".

Oh, and for names, how about Drummer (Spencer John) Bent VC ... or any of the other winners of the VC from North East Lancashire.

Re: Holland's Pies Vans

It seems that you can send in one entry only, and that has to be one name.
