Re: hospitals forgetting to operate?

Sad to hear Rossendale hospital is closing - had a number of consultations & treatments there until I was discharged by my consultant last year. The staff there were absolutely brilliant, especially in the coloscopy dept - they really knew how to put you at ease & make the procedures a lot less frightening.

It was very sad to drive around looking for the only way in and seeing everything closed up and looking tatty. It must have been a fine old building when it was first opened as a workhouse.

The staff who saw to my wife were indeed very friendly and most helpful, certainly put her at ease.

We got out of the lift to go to the nurses station and a lady was sat on a seat with a trolley containing a few bags of crisps, chocolate bars a few biscuits and a big flask of hot water, she was the canteen staff and the only "cafe". 75p for two teas a bag of crisps and some ginger biscuits certainly put Blackburn hospital to shame.
