I would like to know why the question was posed.
I think it is insensitive and crass.
Maybe that is because I live life living...not dying(even though we all are.....dying that is).
And what on earth is this transgression stuff?

I also wonder if GH has some mental health issues.....one of those that lie on the autistic spectrum.

Why I said autistic spectrum.....sufferers of these conditions have little concept of how to conduct social interaction.....take things very literally and are precise about how things are laid out.

Re: How many in Accrington will not survive this evening?

Can anyone tell me what the heck he's on about. Has he escaped from somewhere? Is he on something illegal?
As for his continual use of the word 'transgression' one dictionary defines the meaning as being:
1. A violation of a law, command, or duty.
2. The exceeding of due bounds or limits.
3. A relative rise in sea level resulting in deposition of marine strata over terrestrial strata.

Graham you just don't make sense. It is not a transgression to use an apostrophe to show omission when making a contraction. So may I suggest that you grow up and stop trying to make yourself sound knowledgeable.

That may be the posh/proper description of it, but to put it at street level, the guy seems to just be being anal!

Re: How many in Accrington will not survive this evening?

It is said that an abbreviation is a shortening by any method. Such methods appear to include those which use an apostrophe to indicate omission.

My assumption was that if it`s in the dictionary, then it`s allowed. And words with apostrophes are in the dictionary, text speak like gr8 instead of great, isn`t in the dictionary so wouldn`t be allowed.

And before you say it, yes, I do know what assumption is the mother of.

Thanks, gpick24, for your concession-of-a-sort.

What lingers is the suggestion that I am on the autism continuum, though those who claim that have offered no evidence that their claim is professional.

I`m in no position to give concessions, this is just what I`ve assumed and I`ve not been told off yet for using apostrophes.

Well, thanks anyway. When I joined the community it seemed to me - and still seems to me - that there are many rules and I would soon fall foul of them. The rules I did break were those about caring what other people think, which weren't among those I read here. Hence the vilification; I get that everywhere I travel.

It would appear that you are on something, which you would be better off without.
