How many in Accrington will not survive this evening?

How many, do we judge, will die unexpectedly in Accrington before this eve has passed? They will not see the new year, though they expect that they will. They consider, in the absence of better evidence, that they are healthy and do not expect that an accident of one stripe or another will end their lives.

Probably the same as last night, and the night before that. When it comes to dying of ill health I don`t think todays date has much relevance.

Granted, g. Yet this date has significance for some humans. Sudden death has many causes beyond unknown ill health - fire, stabbing, shooting, explosion and the like.

I do hope you get out more in 2014 & join the rest of us in the real World.

Thanks for your hope, Dave. I'm allowed out every day and am unaware of any imposed or innate limitation on my ability to join your real World [sic].

As we must both acknowledge, Gordon, the meaning of volunteering is undefined here. How could I volunteer to be part of an unknowing death? Am I not already a volunteer, like all those alive?

I think you'd better get a life before it ends unexpectedly.

Indeed. Have another year - they're [TRANSGRESSION! abbreviation] free for as long as they come.

I suspect that GH may have a point here. Statistically I think that New Year's Eve is a high (or do I mean low) point for mortality due to booze, depression, Jools Holland etc.
