Dead on Willow it was the early 50s, we had lodgers from Simon Carves who did a lot of the steelwork. Many of the people who worked on it stayed in Accrington and have families here.

In 1949 Lang Bridges did a lot of work for Simon Carves of Cheadle Heath Stockport. I made some of the wood patterns for the cast iron work that went into building the power plants that ran the generators.

Huncoat power station construction began in 1950 and was finished, and opened in 1956.My dad worked there for over 30 years more or less up to its closure then he moved to padiham powerstation until retirement.

My dad worked at Huncoat power station in the 60s ... I think he worked in the stores ... not sure about that, 'cause it was at a time that my dad and I were not getting along.

When I was an apprentice at Lang Bridges, we made a lot of patterns & castings for Simon Carves, Cheadle Heath, Stockport.
I put that name on many a pattern.
They were mainly for the coal crushing plant to feed the boilers.
That would be in the early 1950's.

Just reread the thread, and I've already quoted on it once
