I don't know if ....
I don't know if I'm losing my marbles or not. But sometimes when I visit here, I check out the pics .... just to eyeball some of the people who post regularly .... and it seems to me that you guys "look" Lancashire ... is it possible ... does it have something to do with the accent shaping the facial features? Or has living in the colonies for so long affected my brain Does anyone else see this, or is it just me?

Mmmm .... and what would those features be then ? .. be careful...
Of course, the way you form your every day speech does affect your facial muscles, same way as if you are a sour grapes. Laughter lines are a fact too.
Let's see your 'mush' ... we will compare...

Re: I don't know if ....
Name names, then we'll tell you.
There is definitely a very local use of exagerated mouth movements, as examplified by Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough's Cissie and Ada.
It's all to do with working in t' noisey mills, when you had to mouth what you wanted to say to your workmates.

I can't really describe it ...
Anyway, I'm off to Montreal to watch the Canadiens play the Penguins ..... I'll check around the crowd to see if the folks there look French
And I'll see if I can find a pic that doesn't make me look like Jethro Tull's "Aqualung" ....

You'll be able to smell they're French, before you get close enough to check.
Dirty heathen beggars.

Re: I don't know if ....
Here's a few Lancashire faces. What do you think?
They're from Wigan (Warrington), Oldham, Bury, Blackburn, Rochdale, Accrington and Wigan again. Is there a shared "look"?
Just in case you don't know, it's George Formby, Bobby Ball, Victoria Wood, Anthony Valentine, Gracie Fields, Jeanette Winterson and Frank Randle.

As soon as I posted that I laughed when I saw it.
That's Les Dawson and Roy Barraclough...
and not Less and Roy.
