ID/Address Fraud?
As I don't drive I was wondering if anyone knew how a car is registered with the DVLA? Is it possible to use someone else's address?
The reason I'm asking is that the police called at my door asking for someone who doesn't live here, the owner of a red Clio. They couldn't tell me what it was about as I wasn't the person they were looking for, it can't even be a previous householder as we bought the house new. I am concerned that someone may be using my address, we had something similar last year when someone got a contract mobile phone using my address. When we reported it to the police they weren't interested, (I'm not the victim of fraud apparantly!?), neither was the mobile phone company, the only people to take it seriously were the insurance company as the fraudster had taken out cover with the mobile phone. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
