The customer is always right...even when they aren't. That's good customer service.

Meh you two seem the exact people that wouldn't get good service. Manners don't cost a bloody thing and if you can't give them you don't deserve to receive them

This b- ... woman came in today and simply because she didn't like the sound of one of the meals she looked at me in disgust and talked as if I was stupid for even mentioning it... how someone can talk the way she did to another person and think it's acceptable I do not know.

Like I said earlier, if you take your employers pay, you should have the decency to give all of their customers good service. If you don't like it, you have the option of seeking other employment.

Good manners cost nothing, especially when someone is paying you to serve their customers well, regardless of their attitude.

You never know when you're going to need a reference in the future.

What kind of person are you ?

You think that because someone is getting paid minimum wage that they should lose all rights to self respect ?

Your reaction is that of a child and your thoughts are those of a snob.

I am damn good at my job, no matter how pathetic it may be and I have never had a single complaint, which is more than the manager or supervisors or hell anyone else in the place can say for themselves. My manager knows I am one of the best workers in the place and knows she is going to struggle to find an adequate replacement when I leave. Reference ? I've already got it and it's a bloody good one.

The way I live my life is to give an assumed respect until the actions of a person either earn true respect or show themselves not worthy of it. Why would that change for minimum wage ?

i'm the kind of bloke that says things as i see em, n a snob you wouldn't know if you met one. self respect means adequate service if yer having a bad day- your words not mine. minimum wage is crap n i do not dispute that, but kids with a chip on their shoulder i have no time for, hope that explains it.

References aren't worth the paper they're written on. Most prospective employers phone or write to the people who gave the actual reference, so good luck with that one.

I guess I'm just lucky, in that I was brought up to believe in good work ethics.

Pride in your job has nothing to do with the minimum wage. There are people working voluntarily who give 100% to what they are doing, and provide good service irrespective of whether or not they have hangovers, or whatever.

Personally I've always given 100% to anyone who has employed me, be that cleaning bogs as a student, or on a six figure salary, in charge of multi-million pound budgets, and numerous staff.

If I was your boss I wouldn't have to sack you...because you would never have made it past the first interview.

You seem to skip half of what I have said, simply so you can lord it and attempt to make yourself look good, or so it seems anyway.
Your behaviour has totally changed my opinion of you, you used to at least seem to be a decent, balanced person however this has proved otherwise.

I am a good worker. I work hard and I do my job well. My boss knows this, the customers can see this, and I am not sure why I am so bothered in justifying this to you but I hate people being so very wrong. For the record, the hangover bit was a joke... along with the before 12 in the morning part, however it seems to have gone over the head.

I apologise for failing to find pride in my work of selling extremely low quality food at an extremely high price, aimed at families with young children and pensioners - the two groups of people who should really be spending their money on better things. Saying that, I do the job well and efficiently, with excellent service to the vast majority of customers. I do however put myself before my employer and would quit if my "superiors" for one second suggested that I should stand for being treated as sub-human. Luckily, as my employers do have experience in the service industry, as you so evidently do not, they understand and are on hand every time to deal with an "awkward" customer should it get to the point that blood is noticeably running down from ones bottom lip(again, a joke).

As to volunteers taking pride in their work, I would assume they do more than anybody as they wouldn't be doing it if they didn't. I know I care more about the stuff I do for Stanley, OSC and Ultras more than I do for my employer.
