I'm a bit confused as to whether it's a dog or a bitch. Anyway there are 2 possibilities, either kanker or mites, which are both likely in a fluufy-eared dog. In both cases there used to be powder that could be dusted in the ear cavity, which must be kept dry so no swimming and no baths. The vet should be able to sort it out fairly quickly and, if yours hasn't, I suggest you change vets.
