PS - My weather thread response is stuck up in feedback, suggestions etc. Wouldn't let me post in the Weather thread! Just in case anybody had looked!

Re: Is this the calm before the storm?
I don't care if we are in the calm bit at the centre of a hurricane, I like it, and long may it last.
It's nice that the feeling of ugliness has ended.

Was there really Bernie? Not sure where to look or if I'd even wish to. Okay, go ahead, where is the battle?

Re: Is this the calm before the storm?
There's a big difference between a good discussion, even if people disagree, and a nasty slanging match.

Sorry Willow I disagree that was developing into a slanging match IMO. Quite sad to see but there you go.

Re: Is this the calm before the storm?
Had it degenerated into abuse and name calling?
The problem with the written word on a forum is that you cannot tell what tone of voice the writer would use if they were speaking. That makes a big difference. Sometimes people assume anger where there is none and then retaliate.

Re: Is this the calm before the storm?
I can argue a point 'til the cows come home but I would never get "personal". It has happened to me and it's just silly and childish. If you can't put your argument across without getting nasty, you should put up and shut up.
Everyone who's posting at the moment is reasonable and sensible and respects the other point of view. Long live Debate but keep it amicable. Accyweb, I agree, is pleasant just now.

I agree West Ender except for the "debates" where alcohol is obviously involved. I enjoy sitting back and watching the show these threads take. It is interesting that brother Rindy tends to be involved on the sober side in these "discussions." Great wit, discombobulated babble, iirational and somewhat senseless responses, etc. Warms the heart on a cold evening!
