Hi, just a thought, wonder if this should read "Thornbers" - sounds similar, eh?

Nope definitely as above.

Around 1965/66 a set of pottery was made for them by Portmeirion in Stoke... Portmeirion pottery is highly collectable.. But the chemist ones for Accrington arn't as sought after by collectors.. I buy pieces at around 25 quid each and they all have the same type of chemist (mainly dentists stuff adverts) on them.

I got the info from Portmeirion after writing to them.  But can't find any info abut the chemist.. The name must be right.. I mean a bit of a gaff if they made all that pottery with the wrong name

Starnge that a chemists who must have been doing well in the town to have there own pottery made... no one seems to have heard of...

Oh well. maybe someone one day
