How do you go about seeking a grant towards insulation without getting calls from contractors?

Re: Loft insulation grant

I'm not on benefits but I should be entitled to a percentage towards the cost. Is it still worth clicking on the link?

Re: Loft insulation grant

No. Whenever I search for info about grants on the net there seems to be a lot from various sources which suggests that people are jumping on the bandwagon to extract a bit of coin. There has to be one main legitimate way to do it surely

You will probably get nowt then. Us that pay all the tax get sod all back from the Government.

Those that don't work appear to get everything for nothing.

Give Homewise a bell, they're in the book, and they'll point you in the right direction, hopefully, their numbers is the book, but I'm such a lazy sod you'll have to look it up yourself. Its just past 7pm and have had a nice bottle white with my tea, in other words i'm squiffy

Re: Loft insulation grant

When you do a search for government grants, only click on government sites, or you will go to contractors sites, if your application is successful, you WILL be contacted by contractors, push them for as much as possible, they usually try to get extra money out of people even though the grant should cover the cost.

Visit Homewise and they should give you all the info you need. Also, the age limit has been reduced from 60 to 55 as from last April.Good luck
