Re: Lost Pub
Was there a pub on the old Hynburn road just past the old bus depot back door?
I seem to remember the girl I married living very close to it and I think! the chap who ran it finished up with a couple of lorries. Memory plays tricks after all these years, it must be about 1969 I am talking about just after I moved from sunny Yorkshire.

Re: Lost Pub
That's the place I remember, The Union. Memory is not so bad after all, I just wish I could remember the name of the chap who had it about that time.
He died a year or two ago and his coffin travelled to the crem on the back of Alan Brierley's old lorry.

No.May sound obvious but it was on Lang St that went up to the underground.
It's a car park now.

Re: Lost Pub
Now you're talking! All regular ports of call for me. The Langs Arms was definitely on Grant Street almost opposite a row of red brick houses (which was unusual for Accy). Out of the house, through the underground and into the pub for a couple of early pints to set me up for a night on the town. The Union and the Palatine were cracking little pubs, too. Fancied a very attractive young lady who used to frequent the latter pub, but, alas, she was a dingle, so romance was out of the question.

Mind you, in the interests of fairness, I wouldn't marry a "Roversette" either.
