Mobile Phone Gone Dead

My mobile phone has just conked out on me, it was fine earlier but now the screen is blank. Will it be the battery that has gone? And is it worth getting a new battery if that is the problem?

May sound simple but have you accidentally turned it off?

I don't believe this just picked it up and it is working now, I hadn't switched it off. That is weird

Bernie how long have you had the phone? might be the battery, if you have had it more than 2 years then i'd say get a new battery, they are dead cheap on the inside market just next to peggys cafe

Only reason I asked is that the Nokia LCD screens relied on a bit of rubber to connect to the circuit board, they quite often failed and the screen went blank. The phone was still working but it couldn't be operated. Taking it to the shop meant a new screen was fitted to it and you were £20+ poorer.
