Re: mum's the word

Obviously as a man, I wouldn't, but both my daughter-in law and my daughter have been breast feeding, sometimes no matter what, the need of the child surpasses the disgruntled comments of the narrow minded.
Done in a careful manner even the people with you can hardly notice what's going on, but if someone does object it says more about who and what they are than a mother doing what is after all a natural function.

So long as it's without fuss and 'look at me', it should never be a problem for normal, bystanding adults nor' should it be something hidden from children, the more mothers that breast feed in public the better chance for a normal civilised? society.

It is after all, what they are there for! (Though I do enjoy the secondary use they can be put to!).

Re: mum's the word

I'm same as Panther, I chose not to breast feed!! it's my choice, but I would not frown at any other mother that was breast feeding in public!!

As Less said, that is naturally what they are there for in the first place.

If I was breastfeeding would have no qualms about doing it in public. Think it is the folk who moan about it who are the ones with the problem.

I did and would do again (if the need arose obviously !)
I had no problems with doing it and although once got stared at I just got on with it; as Less said the child comes first.

Re: mum's the word

I wouldn't feel comfortable breast feeding in public but I am a bit of a funny beggar when it comes to things like that. I wouldnt feel comfortable doing it in front of my friends. The only people I would feel comfortable breast feeding in front of would be my husband and my mum.

However, I have no qualms with any woman who breast feeds in public.

If you are breast feeding your baby and you are out in town why should you be forced to hide away in a toilet to breast feed?

This is 2008. Women should be able to breast feed in all public places. It's not offensive and it's not a crime.

I did, i breastfed Jack in public-i fed him in Accy town centre, restaurants, trains, the London tube,Blackpool seafront,In the Dining area in hotels in Kent,Leeds shopping centre and loads of other places....in front of all my family and in front of my friends (and their children).
Im sure when you have a baby/breastfeed a hormone is released or something thats make you not worry about who is in front of you when you feed your baby cos im usually a bit prudish but i didn't mind feeding him anywhere,or in front of anyone....now i think about it maybe i should have been a bit more bothered
