Exclamation Old Accrington

Could anyone tell me if Leamings/Leemings Pad (path) is still there? It used to run from Sandy Lane to the top of Plantation St, with a derelict white painted farm about half way

Re: Old Accrington

I’m sure someone on here will be able to answer your question but comparing the old OS map extract with an extract from Google maps, there’s a footpath that ran between Sandy Lane and upper Plantation St, past Field House (farm?), which today seems to mark the eastern extent of ‘new’ housing built off Wensleydale Drive.

Re: Old Accrington

That farm weren't there even in the 70's, but I remember the path.

Re: Old Accrington

The path was certainly there in '48/9 and the farm building. When we walked along that path the field to the west was an almost fully grown wheat field, had some explaining to do when I got ready for bed that night as to where the wheat had come from.
