Old Accy

I can remember my father or mother showing me an old book with photos of old Accrington and I am sure I saw a photo of an old lady in a long dress crossing the Burnley Rd end of Queens Road. Can anybody enlighten me please as I also thought there was an old water pump at the junction?
Also can anybody tell me how the name Penny House Lane came about and was there a farm on Queens Road which has now been converted into a large house alongside Thorneyholme Road? I seem to remember coming home from Peel Park school and cutting along the back of that old building which I believe was occupied by an old lady we used to think was a witch as she used to lean out of her window and shout at us kids.
