Re: Paper rounds...

This thread brought back some memories! My older brother, sister, and I all had paper "routes" (my younger brother and sister were bums, only helping with Sunday morning deliveries out the back of mi dad's station wagon). The rest of the week, we delivered the evening paper via our bicycles with baskets.

The total route was about 3 miles with around 80 customers. Collection days (Friday) was both the best ($$$$$$) but took alot of time. Ya had to knock on each door and usually have a bit of a natter, especially with the older neighbors! I guess we made about $30 a week which wasn't bad back in the late 60s/early 70s.
