plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
does anyone have any idea of where I could get some plastic shapes and or mirrored perspex from..
basically I am going to be re-doing a section of my back garden for my little best mate and I am looking to have some perspex shapes made (animals, circles, squares etc) mirrored or coloured so I can fix them to the wall for him to look at/break up the brick a bit..
firstly where could I get the palstic/perspex from?
secondly where could I get it cut..?
thanks..

Re: plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
thanks for the heads up... what did you get done and how much did you pay?
got about £100 put by for it..anymore than that and the idea can be dropped..
what I want wont be huge but big enough to see what it is - 2ft squarish will be a rough size..

Re: plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
Was just some foot squares that I got, wanted transparent perspex so it would light up but not show the bulbs, can't remember how much it was, was a few year ago but I know i remember being shocked at the price
Just spotted that you say mirrored, have you tried B$Q and places like that? sure they do large sheeting of it, would cut easy with a jig-saw

Re: plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
Try the Range at Blackburn as they have a craft section and seem to have a lot of unusual things there

Re: plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
Just thought of a place near me that would have the plastic sheeting but don't think it would be coloured, what about painting it yourself? even better get your "little best mate" to help you

Re: plastic coloured/mirrored shapes..?
When I was 'into' Gallery Glass painting (see examples submitted in photo comp)
Competition # 22 - Accrington Gallery
I bought sheets of clear perspex from a works near the junction of Nuttall St and Victoria St.
I still have one piece of clear perpex which I intended to use as a 'triple glazed' unit for a fanlight at the address I left 7 yrs ago.
It cost me about £30 then but I have not found any use for it where I live now.
It is stored in the deep recesses of my landing storeroom so I have not measured it before posting.
I recall it may well be about 3'x2' - and is still preserved by its peel off coating, so I don't expect it will be scratched.
You can have it if it will serve your purpose.

Mabron Plastics.
As you go along Nutall St, towards Victoria St, there is a sign on the wall directing you to their place.
Perspex is not cheap. There are other types of plastic which would probably do .
Perspex can be cut with a jigsaw, but some of the other types of plastic are brittle, and can shatter when trying to saw, if not well supported.

Ask if you can have a root around in their scrap bin you may find some bits you can use?
