No problem.........Take the card and a utilities invoice with you to the polling station to prove who you are and will be able to vote.

Re: polling card
Lots of people think you need your polling card to vote, quite simply you don't, the polling card is just to let you know that there is an election and where the polling station is and it does give you your polling number, but you don't need it with you when you go

Re: polling card
I think it's very strange that you don't need your polling card cos you could just go in and use anyone's name and address that you know won't be voting and get multiple votes if you're clever. I never received my polling card for some reason this year but voted no prob but was suprised that they didn't ask for some ID

That's quite true.
It says on the polling card that you don't need the card, nor does it mention that you need any form of identification to vote, just to tell them your name and address.
I have neighbours who say they never vote, so I may just pop back again in disguise.

Of course I was only joking, but with a system so lax as far as security is concerned, I bet there are many abuses of democracy that happen today.
I suppose this would be one of the advantages of photo-ID.

Re: polling card
After the "Debacle" in florida a few years ago, the good ole US of A, being a super power n all that, i reckon democracy flew out the window, so why expect it now?

At Last, yipee something we agree on Rindi, As you know I've was in politics for a long time, but since 1997 the insentive to cheat at the ballot box has become more prevalant. I have nearly always had a P. V. for both work and health reasons, but since 1997 rules have been relaxed so that more people will vote, but at watt cost, do we want genuine votes or bogus votes. We've tried all postal ballots, that does not work, we hav to move back to polling station votes, at least we have a chance of making the vote fare
