PSP problem

Bought a PSP off an accwebber for Reece for christmas, and now it aint working

you switch it on and all there is, is a blue screen with wavey white lines on it, i cant even turn it off with the switch, have to take the battery out to turn it off

i had a mate here yesterday and he said it might need resetting, other than that can anyone give me any advice as to what might be the problem with it?

PlayStation Portable.

SLB: PSP: How to Hard Reset

Try that Chuck!

Without wanting to be harbinger of Doom there are some posts that suggest it may be laser that is faulty. Does it start up with no disc in it?

Re: PSP problem

Works fine here.... ??????

Basically, from turned on position hold Power switch for ~10 secs till it turns off itself. Then wait a short while, then flick the switch to turn on ( may take a few goes )
