Pub Advice
Hi, I'm after a bit of advice please. Heading over to the North West at end of December and have decided to stop over in Accrington for a few hours. It will be a Sunday and looking for a pub that opens at 11.00 a.m, decent beer, pool table and will be ok with about 15 of us. We're old codgers in our 50's
Cheers in advance

Re: Pub Advice
You might struggle with finding a decent pub opening before 12:00 Northerner.
1st choice Peel Park on Turkey Street BB5 6EW
2nd choice Victoria on Manchester Road BB5 2NY
Commercial on Church St BB5 2EN is a Wetherspoons so opens early...beer of passable quality but no pool table.
Couple more, Crown Inn at Altham may open up early if you give them a call or the Forts Arms Lower Barnes St bottom end of Clayton.
Message me if you need any further details.

Re: Pub Advice
How does the Abbey slot into this ? I agree with Dthep - Peel Park is No 1. Pie n peas or sandwiches on offer.

Re: Pub Advice
Oh for the days when every bus stop on Route 1 ... Forts Arms to the Black Dog ... was a Pub. And even where it turned around at Bayley St. in Clayton there was a Pub ... The Village Blacksmith. And since when did fifty-year-olds become owd farts?

Is the Crown in Altham or are we not talking about the one at the football ground ?
Not sure what time Crown opens on Sunday's but it must be early because they do Sunday breakfast which I am told is very popular.

Crown on Whalley Road LD by Accy Stanley. A moot point if it is in Altham or not.Altham West's border.
I had forgot they do breakfasts doh! and I was in there Friday night !!
Best ring Will or Emma there and give them advance warning of a party of 15 Northerner.

Re: Pub Advice
Just a point, Northerner, if the Sunday at the end of December you have in mind is the 28th, the Crown will be somewhat rammed, until around 2.55 anyway!
