pubs for a newcomer.

hi people, I am moving to Accy soon and just wondered if anyone could recommend any pubs in and around accy? I work a lot of weekends so I mainly go out midweek, and maybe join a darts/pool team whenever the new season starts? Any advice most welcome.

Might help if you mention the area you're moving to, in case you prefer staggering home rather than catching a Taxi?

Oak Lea's a good 'un. You can catch Cashy, me and various other ageing hooligans in there early Saturday afternoons on home match days.

If you want serious conversation, try the tap room in the Stag - the intellectual powerhouse of Hyndburn.

p.s. avoid darts nights
