recipes for the slow cooker??
Happy new year all
Right jim bought me a slow cooker for xmas and now the festivities are over i want to put it to use. my mother had one and used it for all sorts but i cant rem what she put in it other than the obvious ( casseroles)
Anyone got any good recipes for em .. ?

ya can cook joints beef/lamb etc in em n they come out top panther, the boss does so i can vouch for that.

chuck a ham shank in all day, then crumb it into some soaked peas
cook teh following day for yummy pea and ham.
Use it to stew on a curry that you cooked teh previous day
Broth, enough said

even chilli is lovely in one

Yup, first ya take 2 squirrels (cleaned and gutted preferably), and let them simmer for an hour or so. Then throw in some celery, potatoes, carrots, salt and pepper, and a bit of cayenne pepper. Just marvelous.

whats teh difference between squirrel meat and cow meat? None in my eyes, I don't understand why we have this whole "cow/sheep/pig" is acceptable but "dog/cat/squirrel" isn't. Its meat, you either like meat or not.

You can even stuff a whole chicken in and it comes out delicious.
One tip though is to keep the lid on as much as possible whatever you're cooking - the way it works best is if it can keep all the juices/fluids inside.
