Re: Registry Office
Have a friend who marries people there (No ..not Margaret R .. ).
Will try and have a word to see how he describes the setting. Can only say he is a lovely person and would make any wedding ceremony enjoyable.

Re: Registry Office
Reply I got to my E-Mail, hope it helps. You two will just have to go and look for yerselves... I would never go on a stage without looking at it first .. need to how much room you have for your dresses, etc (and the fire exits for chance you change your mind at the last minute)...
"Hi Kate
Nice to hear from you.
Accy Register Office was refurbished a relatively short time ago and the
ceremony room is very nice and light - lots of big windows in the old
Mechanics Institute to help with reading.
Tell them to call in, I'm sure someone there will be happy to show them the
room and answer any questions they have about the big day.
It's highly unlikely I'll be involved as I work at Burnley and work in that
area most of the time but you never know."

Re: Registry Office
i got married there and had my photos done at oakhill park, it was lovely, had a full white wedding in the registry office and they couldnt have been nicer, the only prob was a traffic cone sticking out of the hedges outside which nobody noticed until we got the photos back!

Re: Registry Office
Me n t'other half was there last week, and whilst walking past the room, the door was open. It looks realy nice, warm and inviting. You should have a lovely ceremony there hun. And it only lasts half an hour anyhow.

Re: Registry Office
my mate got married at accrington registry office
the place its self is nice enough but..
when my mate got married there the building across from it was all boarded up so the photos of people arriving looked bloody awfull
that building has since had windows put in but from what i remember the carpark across from the office was also very grubby and the buildings behind it looked a bloody mess as well in the photos
like i said the place is decent enough inside but be carefull what you catch in your cameras view when you are taking pictures of the guests etc arriving or should i say what your photographer catches in his view
for the group photos everyone moved across the road to the church yard in accy center for the group photos
just givin a heads up about the view across from the registry office so you can try to avoid the crappy stuff in the background

From what I remember they will take you and Corker into the room just to check all your details are correct. They will then bring the guests in and ask them not to take photos during the ceremony.(that was a rule don't know if it still is) Then you will have the ceremony and sign the register and afterwards you get plenty of time to take photos. The staff are really nice just relax and enjoy the day. Good Luck

Re: Registry Office
Misskitty, you should get a brochure with the different types of vows in it, the order of service and some guidance on music etc, think you get it when you book the date?

Re: Registry Office
Is it not cheaper to commit murder and get a life snetence at Preston Crown court than pay the fees for a register office
