Any one tell me if the Samsung D500 is a good phone. Thinkin of gettin one for my b'day.

The Samsung D500 will be Samsung's first ever Bluetooth equipped mobile phone. In addition to having Bluetooth technology, Samsung have included a Mega Pixel Digital Camera with 7X Zoom! This will be Samsung's second Mega Pixel Digital Camera handset.

The Samsung D500 is a slider phone opening up by using a soft touch slide up display. The D500 also has an internal antenna so no more ugly anntenas sticking out the top of your mobile!

The D500 is equipped with 80Mb shared internal memory which can be used for saving those high quality mega pixel images or for saving your favourite albums on.

Samsung have also cleverly incorporated a great flash also included on the D500 so that you can take pictures in the dark or in rarely lit areas. So no more complaining about a picture being too dark!

If you dont want to take a picture and you want to record the moment instead, you can! just put the phone into video mode and start shooting! you can view and record videos on your Samsung.

Other features included in this Samsung mobile are a built in E-mail client, vCard, vCalendar, Advanced MMS, Java, WAP2.0, USB and SyncML.


The new D500 from Samsung features stunning visual design, excellent multimedia and storage capabilities combined with many enhancements. And of course, for the first time, Samsung have included Bluetooth technology into the phone.

The phone design, on an aesthetic level is very handsome. Small and compact with a slide-up opening system. The phone's keyboard is located on the inside slider which is simply (and smoothly) released by gently pushing a button located on the side of the phone. Not only does the D500 boast great looks, but it's also crammed with excellent features.
1.3 Megapixel Camera
Samsung have embedded a SXGA 1.3 Megapixel digital camera into the rear of the D500 mobile phone. Add photo effects and view your photos on the bright, crisp-clear TFT display with over 262 thousand colours. (1.9 inches) Close-ups or cityscapes, your photos will be vibrant and detailed. Store and play back your perfect pictures from the 92MB internal user memory, add to it multi-shot or any other enhancement features like photo effects and then send pictures wirelessly through Bluetooth or Infrared .
MPEG4 Video
With the D500, you also get an integrated digital camcorder combined into the phone. It will let you shoot movies in MPEG4/H.263 format. Once you're done you can play it back on your phone, similarly to a PC, and then even send it to a friend in a MMS. You can zoom in with a 4x digital zoom while recording up to 60 minutes of video with sound.
Speaker Phone with Voice Clarity
Sometimes speaking on the phone in a crowded or noisy place can be frustrating and difficult. The Samsung D500 addresses this issue with it's state of the art echo and noice cancellation technology feature. The speaker phone will also suppress excess ambient noise from around you, allowing for a clearer call.
Sound Mate
The D500 can also be connected to it's unique Sound Mate accessory which equips the phone with speaker phone advantages, making in-car conversations and conference calling easy. The soundmate is included along with the phone package.

i have one a d 500 samsung , have had it nearly 1 month , i really like it the pictures are very sharp, but i must admit im not quite used to all the other stuff that is with it yet , but as with my digital camera i WILL get used to them eventually, not being a youngster i find it a bit harder than them but must say i do like my new mobile VERY VERY MUCH.

It is a phone that I have been considering. The only others that I am considering are the PDA/phone combos. The 1.3M pixel camera is a major feature but remember to add in the cost of a memory card as it will soon fill up its internal memory. Also I'm not sure what would happen if you tried sending a full size piccy as a MMS to someone who has an 'ordinary' camera phone.

they are a bit 'old tech' now I'm afraid.
