Re: Scotland

As to those famous west coast midges the size of dragon flies I am lucky I dont suffer from bites of them musnt taste nice. The West Highland way walk takes you through some cracking scenery and as it starts at Milngavieyou have about 100 miles to Fort William its worth it.

I kept my mouth shut and smiled...paid my money in Scottish notes and lived to tell the tale and had a hell of a Chinese carry out just up the road.

Lol, we once had this conversation once before at a meet...I think.

I found Scotland to be divided east/west, just as England has a north/south divide.

The western folk are emotional, wet, and the east is more reserved, dry. Just like the weather.

I love the whole of Scotland, but I never felt at home in the east.

Mind you I thought north London was odd too, and could never have lived there either.

Re: Scotland

i used to spend a lot of time in Oban on the west coast, and some days in July and August were really warm and sunny. There are palm trees growing there which made it feel like being abroad.

The rest of the year it was typical British weather!!

Re: Scotland

Went to Largs for my honeymoon in 1978, it rained solidly for 7 days, think that should have been an omen of stormy weather ahead

He didnt pay his bar bill at Oil Can Harrys' and thanks to the heavies had to emigrate. Either that or he upset them by putting lemonade in the malt whiskey.
