Please help. I am new to the area and I have an 11 year old boy. He wishes to join a scouts group, but I don’t know whom to contact about joining him up. We live in Great Harwood. We feel this will help him make new friends. Help Please.

There is a great Scout troop in Whalley (2nd Whalley) which is nearby. They are among one of the best troops in East Lancashire. I am not sure of the contact details for the troop but if you contact the County Commissioner he will be more than happy to help, he is called Chris Creelman and his e-mail address is as follows:   [email protected]  otherwise you could call in to Bowley Scout Camp which is the headquarters for East lancashire Scouts and speak to the warden who i believe is associated to 2nd Whalley Scouts. The campsite is actually in Great Harwood near the Dog and Otter Pub (it is signposted just after the pub). The website address is www.eastlancashirescouts.org.uk. Hope you are successful.
