Spar Burnley Road

the other posting about the spider in the noodles reminded me of a problem we had with the Spar and why we rarely shop there anymore

Last year my wife went to the Spar on a Thursday and as the Accy Observer comes out on a Thursday she picked up an Observer, as soon as she got home realised it was the previous weeks, so she popped back with the receipt and explained her error. the receipt was unreadable as the ink was so faint. The assistant then claimed it was not their receipt therefore implying my wife was lying, not the brightest thing to do as a result they have now lost a regular customer both in terms of petrol and groceries so we now go to Tescos on Abbey Street.

Are there any other shops were people no longer shop due to poor service etc?

For the cost of a newspaper you'd have thought they would have given you the benefit of the doubt anyway to have a happy customer.

Re: Spar Burnley Road

Not a shop but there is a company that I will no longer deal with due to abysmal service. The staff are abrupt, they don't do what they say they will, don't apologise and don't seem to have a clue what they are supposed to be doing. I have had cause to deal with them on several occasions in the past and they have made me feel second up from the dung beetle every time.

Despite this they keep winning awards for their wonderful service, I don't know how. They must be the only one who goes up for it or they'd never win.

Name 'em and shame 'em...you never know it may do some good. Might save one of us falling into the same trap too.

I didn't say who they were because I don't know if it's allowed. I don't want to be done for libellous posting even though I'd only be telling people my experience, I don't want to cause trouble for Accyweb.

Re: Spar Burnley Road

I don't use Burnley Rd Spar, it is way way overpriced for groceries and wines. A bottle of wine in Spar is a good £2-£3 dearer than at Asda, Tesco, Boozebuster etc.
I can't believe that they wouldn't change your newspaper though... Robbing gits..
