You are spot on with that observation Gary....and I've just realized my daughter will be 40 this year. Goodness, how time flies, it doesn't seem two minutes since she was going to school.

You're right there. I get moments when I can't believe I'm going to be 30, I have to keep reminding myself. I still think I'm 22 LOL.

I remember looking at people who were 30 when I was about 17 and thinking that they were so old but like you say it's all relative.

My young children think I'm ancient and love pointing out to me the fact that I was born last century
I have been asked by them if I remember the war, if I knew Jesus when I was younger, and if I have ever seen a dinosaur in Oswaldtwistle!

Never mind though, my parents, who are in their 50s, think I'm a young whippersnapper.

Also, sadly, there are many who were not so lucky as to reach 30 so having this birthday really is something to be glad about.

I can't remember what I did but I think I too was probably in Ireland. In which case I was probably at a dance hall called the Kon Tiki.

Firstly, I convinced a few people they were mistaken and that I was only 29!
Secondly, I moved all the goalposts I set myself to achieve by the age of 30 to 40!
Lastly, I went to New York and had a big spending splurge!
