Re: Toast...what do you like on yours?
Eric, I like fried bread too...but I don't have that very often either.
And just by the way...there was an article in the paper that says they have changed the recipe of HP sauce.......taken 26% of the salt out of it.......for health reasons.
I hate the fascist health police......aren't we big enough and ugly enough to decide what we want to eat...and whether it will do us harm......the alcoholics and the drug addicts are allowed to have their 'poison'....but HP sauce(the original) has to be tampered with 'for our health'.

Oh, and for those who might worry about my arteries....don't. I have dripping on toast so rarely that it hardly matters.

Yes ... dripping ... great stuff I don't have to worry about my arteries either. I got new ones five years ago

Screw the fascist health police ... I'll get a salt shaker and put back the salt. Lite HP, lite beer, lite potato chips (crisps), lite this, lite that. I'm willing to bet that pot heads don't go to their dealers asking for marijuana lite ... "Hey man, none of that bud s...t, I want leaf and seeds and shake .... AND, I want to pay the same price for it." Long live the full English breakfast ... and our equivalent, Denny's Ghttp://www.google.com/search?q=denny's+grand+slam&hl=en&rlz=1G1GGLQ_ENCA 296&prmd=ivns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=8 CptTu21B_K30gGkmpCUBQ&ved=0CDgQsAQ&biw=1280&bih=61 2rand Slam.

Pity ... a little wander here. Anyone remember throwing spuds in the fire until the skins were all charred; then taking them, peeling of the black bits, and eating them salted .... sometimes a little butter or marg if we were flush, which wasn't very often.

Re: Toast...what do you like on yours?
Now that my mind is tuned in to beans on toast, are there still cans of curried beans available? Maybe with sultanas?

Sometimes, but the bread has to be new baked & cut length wise into 3, then toasted till golden brown, and slathered wi best butter, better known as tram scotches.

Re: Toast...what do you like on yours?
Sorry to be ignorant - but what exactly are "tram scotches"? Like the idea that they are slathered in best butter though!
