There are at least 4 types of Lancashire cheese: Crumbly, Tasty, Creamy/Mild and Blue. If it isn't made in PR3, then it isn't Lancashire cheese.

Of beers , there's Thwaites', Moorhouses,Holt's, Pheonix, Hyde's - all made in Lancashire. All available in bottles.

There are also Lancashire Sheeps Milk and Goats Milk Cheeses too, & very nice they are!

Beyond Preston and Accrington they seem to be relatively unknown, even in the outer parts of Lancashire.

Clayton Park makes a good one, you can buy them from Asda. Also Greenhalges (across from cash converters, Accrington) do a decent one. But out of the two i prefare the Clayton Park ones.

I thought you were joking! Butter pies are made from potato, onion and a lot of butter which makes it a pretty stodgy little chomp but they're delicious. Glovers bakery in the Leyland area do the best butter pies for me, nice and moist. Some can be a little dry but once tasted never forgotten!

Like Ken has said though they are very filling as they are stodgy.

Honest Ken never come across them in my life and I've travelled near and far, do they have another name? you've got me thinking now will have to ask my daughter to have a look for them when she does my shopping next weekend, will let you know if I like them when I've tried them

Again the same here yerself and I'm a Red Neck, maybe they used to eat them on fridays in the old daysjust had another quick look at wik and thats the reason because catholics didn't eat meat on friday, how strange, my mother never mentioned them at all

Always used to be Finny/Finnan Haddock for school dinner on Fridays when I were a lad. Is that a Lancashire dish?
