Re: Viaduct
It might have been the most curved viaduct once. Not sure if that still applies. I tried to count the arches once but confused myself. I may try again.

Re: Viaduct
Not wishing to sound pedantic, but I was just wondering, do the bridges that span Whalley Rd & Blackburn Rd count as part of the viaduct?

Re: Viaduct
That's a good question because it's not one continuous thing from the one in Whalley Road is it?

Re: Viaduct
In a bygone time of great wealth. Could anyone imagine today's govt. taking on building a railway system of such massive proportions as the Victorians did?
Then again, that cut over th' pennines was another one...

Re: Viaduct
Remember there's a solid lump between Whalley Road and the main viaduct so that arch probably doesn't count.

Re: Viaduct
Sounds more like the Ribblehead viaduct or something maybe. Perhaps ours is the tightest curve of a viaduct.

Re: Viaduct
It's hard to tell from that because some of the arches are behind a tree but I think I counted 24!
