Vomiting brown?

In Winchester last night I was sick. I did have quite a bit to drink but usually im ok with the amount I drank. I vomited when I got back to the guest house I was sick when I went to the toilet. It was dark brown and looked as though I had been eating raw coffee day. Never seen anything like it.

No......Flashy, sorry to contradict you....bile is yellow to a dark green.
Restless you must see a doctor. Vomiting 'coffee grounds'is a sign of a gastric bleed.
Go to A&E. See a medical professional and do it soon! Please.

If you are home then go to your own doctor......make an urgent appointment.
If you are still away go to A&E. This is something that needs prompt attention.

Re: Vomiting brown?

Yep bile is definitely yellow (plenty of morning sickness!) a quick look on the Internet will tell you to visit a doctor, hope everything turns out ok.

Re: Vomiting brown?

Sorry for my mistake Rob, Margaret was of course right, i am on Omeprazole too, been on them for years, they do tend to bloat me and stop me going to the toilet for days too but they do get rid of the stupid amounts of acid i have in my tummy

Re: Vomiting brown?

Glad you got sorted Rob.....keep on top of it and if you get any further episodes you must go back and see the Doc again.
I hope my advice didn't scare you too much, but there is no easy way to tell you online that something is urgent.

Well done Margaret, I would have said exactly the same if I had been online - remember my dad having something similar years ago so I have always been aware of it.

Rob, glad you have got sorted and hope the meds help... and hope apart from this you had a good weekend.

My dad too Sue...he had a gastric ulcer that played him up for years...then one day it went and he was rushed into hospital and operated on right away.

It is always wise to get a professional opinion(says she who avoids the medical profession like the plague).

Ha Margaret could be me talking...

I remember my dad's episode like it was yesterday - Sunday lunchtime - must have been getting on for fifty years ago - rushed to Accy Vic...

Seems like Rob has got away with it - let's hope so.

Re: Vomiting brown?

Been coughing a lot first thing in the mornings. Doc says that is related.

It happened about 3 in the morning. I awoke needing the toilet and whilst I was on it came on and I had to vomit into the sink. It looked like I had been making chocolate crispies with coffee.(sorry for that image) and using sink as a mixing bowl. Never seen anything like it. Still feel nauseous. And thought I was going to lose my lunch
