Re: weather??
I always thought that days were all the same length ... about 24 hours, I think. The only "longsest day" that comes to mind is some crappy American movie about how the yanks won the war

I love being pedantic ... it's a result of all those years I wasted in university ... I may celebrate the summer solstice by frollicking naked in my garden. This will make my neighbours upchuck and scare away the skunks and the racoons.

Silly? You mean I should have used "cavort" instead of "frollick"?
And on a pedantic note, it should be "daft ******" instead of "silly sod". That's what my gran used to call me; and she would have known 'cause she was from Ossy.

Re: weather??
Just noticed this on the BBC website; batten down the hatches
People across the UK are being warned to brace themselves for unusually stormy weather as high winds and heavy rain are forecast for Sunday.
The storms - with winds which could reach 65mph across northern Britain - are expected to peak around midday. The worst affected areas are expected to be north Wales and northern England, but Northern Ireland and southern Scotland may also be affected.
