Weatherspoons Pub coming to Accy???

I went past the Commercial this morning. That 'A' board is still on the pavement, by the crossing. Someone needs to pick that thing up and sling it through Wetherspoons window.

Weatherspoons has just opened up the White Hart again in Todmorden so that is one more for you to avoid Tealeaf.

I used to frequent the White Hart years ago, the last time was Nov 2009. It has been boarded up for about a year and looks much better (from the outside) than it did.

Because I was on the bus to Manchester, to get the train to London.

It is the council's job to remove dangerous obstacles from the pavement, so why aren't they doing it?

Maybe Wetherspoons have permission from the council.

Why would Wetherspoons have an exemption from the council to place an obstacle on the pavement? As far as I am aware, they are a Watford based retail establishment and not an essential utility having to dig up the pavement and hence restrict the right of way. So why has HBC allowed them to do this?

other retail outlets have A boards on the pavement(in fact there was one outside the Market Hall this morning advertising something or other)....and what does it matter where the chain is based? No-one bothers to enforce the law with regards to cars and vans parking on pavements...aren't they a hazard too?
I don't know the answer to your question, but I suppose you have the same e-mail facilities as the rest of us...if it bothers you so much e-mail HBC and find out.

From what I here wadey they are very busy Friday Saturday nights Sunday afternoon and nights, and quite busy during the week with both pool and darts teams probably won't have that much effect

To be quite honest wadey I would think going to Tod would be just a little higher on the list than Bacup on places not to go, I spent enough time in and around both "Towns" in the seventies to last a lifetime mate, in fact I go as far as to say if the good lord were to give the world an enema he'd stick the tube in Bacup

I hated Todmorden......it always felt really oppressive..even on a sunny day.
Bad earth magic.
Bacup is the same.
