hey peeps

just wondering if any of you know of any hotels etc that cater for weddings (civil ceromony) other than the obvious ones (dunk, highertrapp etc) done a search but as above it only gives you the obvious....

would be looking for the blackburn accy riblle valley areas so if any of you have been to one recently i would appreciate any info regarding locations

many thanks

Mytton fold farm is an excellent venue, my sister held her reception there. You can also get married there.

We had ours at Whitehall Country Club in Darwen - used to be really nice and I think it's just reopened.

Re: Wedding Venues

Was a bridesmaid for my friend and fellow Accywebber 'Mange' in June this year. She got married at Whitehall Country Club in Darwen. We had a cracking day there, the service was perfect and the food excellent. Nice surroundings for the photos and a lovely bridal suite for us to get changed in. Like most of these places, the drinks are quite pricey but we smuggled in a couple of bottles of Champers which were quaffed whilst we were getting ready, hence tipsy bridesmaids.....

i was supposed to get married at the olde english kiosk in darwen

its a tudor type building with large garden areas and running stream/mini waterfalls etc in a small woodlands

not too expensive either a hell of a lot less than sparth house was which was a rip off in comparason

totally argree with you chav about the beautiful setting, unfortunately when i attended a wedding there recently it rained so not all of the wedding party wanted to go out for the photos which caused alot of probelms for the staff who had to rearrange the seating from the wedding ceremony to the reception, so as you can imagine there was alot of suffling around as the chairs were moved around and the tables brought in as the room was not very big. the food wasn't up to much either.
