Re: well on Pendle
I'm posting this from my Pendle perch, about 100 USA from the trig point, just got the stove out and having a cup a soup n a butty, then off to find the elusive well, cloud cover was bit bad earlier so decided to have a warm drink first

Re: well on Pendle
Finally found it, quite easy once you know!
Sat here at side of well, sound of trickling water, no breeze, no rain, and a light misting blowing just in front of my vista, can't buy it!
Despite how some mock me, I don't care, I feel alive, more than sitting in front of my computer!
Will try and post a pic to Flickr then post a link

Sounds great, wish I were there with you right now! From the pic it looks well maintained, wonder who looks after it?
Congrats on achieving your goal!

Re: well on Pendle
thanks for the "well" dones, bit disappointed when i found the well, as it doesnt give the impression of being at all ancient, and its more of a catching hole you can see a clay pipe at the bottom, and then there is a run off that creates the bright green area, i did have a drink from it, had to be done!
some pics on Today in Pictures, there is one of my Pendle Perch, brilliant place for your butties n a brew, its about 150 yds or so on the edge of the hill, about 10 ft down, and its like a natural mini "benches" area, just out of the wind and lovely view, next time your up there try and find it.
next we i shall have to find the helmshore one now, that looks a little more like an old well.
