What a way to spend Easter!
-14 bloody degrees this morning ... can't see my garage from my window for the bloody snow squalls ... Ok what can I do to amuse myself for the rest of this god-awful weekend. At least an answer might give me a laugh as I oil up the old snow shovel. I have enough booze in the fridge, so getting sh**faced is definitely an option. Ah, I can see my bbq peeping out of the snow.

Re: What a way to spend Easter!
Better make the most of BBQs while you can , it won't be long before some loony politician comes along and tries to ban charcoal because of its effects on local air quality and the smoke from roasting steaks is a carcogenic

You are a cynic Steeljack... thought charcoal was envionmentally friendly anyway ? That's why we had to stop using coal in our fires.
Don't particularly like BBQ's anyway .. burnt or raw madam? MMMM.. let me think. Loads suffer from stomach 'bugs' due to BBQ's in the Summer.

Yeah, I know a bit how ya feel Eric. We had 3 inches of that snow and it is gonna drop below freezing again. Worse is that we were in the 70s all last week!

Yup ... we were up there too. Barbequed a salmon last week ... my cats loved it.
Found the answer to a snowy night ... cab down to the Pilot House ... a plate of Mrs. Grogan's steak and kidney pie and chips (she's originally from Preston) several pints of John Smith's .... and a (hic) cab home.
Salutations from the Great and very WHITE North, eh!

The weather sounds grim Eric, it was lovely here yesterday, even had to water the garden!

Funny you should say that....
there was an April Fool's in last week's Mail on Sunday. It stated that because of global warming you had to buy a five pound voucher everytime you lit a barbie, and that council inspectors would be sniffing round people's gardens issuing on the spot fines, for anyone who hadn't bought one.
My Mum was livid, until she realised the date.
Mind you, it sounds a fairly plausible story for the Daily Mail to me.

Re: What a way to spend Easter!
Easter monday ... crappy weather ... a new song: "I could write a book about your Easter toque." Leafs and Canadiens didn't make the playoffs. At least the geese took off, probably heading south. Got PO'd at my cell phone and tossed it out of my car window on the 401.
Anyone got any cheese to go with this whine?
