what are they?

I was walking home from bernies the other day and i walked round the back of the new building across from the globe centre.. there is a big pond with ducks and a few big red posts, i was wondering what they were?

I THINK they are something to do with a railway bridge that used to be there.

Its lovely down there-I often take Jack down to feed the ducks-we had some baby moorhens late last summer on there too.
Quite proud that i already knew it was a lodge rather than a 'pond'
