So many biscuits to choose from but I have to say that the old ones are still the best. Plenty of new ones appear each year but there are only so many ways they can dress up biscuit, chocolate and sugary filling and they'd done that well enough by the time I started eating them in the early 1980s. Fig rolls, Nice biscuits, malted milk and the guilty pleasure of pink wafers - they all hit the mark for me.
However, Bourbon creams remain an old favourite and are probably the stock choice at Rishton Towers.

Know what ya mean about pink wafers - but WHY are they a guilty pleasure? Another similar are those with a plain biscuit base and really squdgy pink and white sticky creamy stuff on top with a light dusting of desiccated coconut. Not sure what they're called or if they even make them any more.

I'm sure I have seen them while out on my travels...I just can't think where.

Aye Ma, while we were doing a big shop to fetch stuff back I'm sure we saw some, but it could've been any of Asda, Tesco or Morrison as we traipsed round quite a few of them.
Bit to squishy for me Sue, but if you put choccy over 'em well that's a different matter, what I do like though is "Tunnocks" the Jockanese choccy, caramel wafer, used to get them as kids from the bread van that came round the estate.

Can't imagine choccy on Mallows, but I do like a nice Tunnocks now and again...
Bought a packet of Tunnocks Caramel wafers while we were in Llandudno.......they were delicious.(and banned for Ma, but it didn't stop her from eating half of one....and greedy mare that I am, I ate the half that was left....well, it saved it from going off )

I'd have polished the packet off! I just can't resist!
