Whats Carlisle like?
a friend of mine is planning to move there over the summer - to get away from glasgow where she currently is
and despite my best efforts to get her to come to accy she's moving to carlisle
any idea's of what this place is like?
size of town etc? from hte looks of it seems very similar to accy minus the charity shops

Quiet.
One good club.
Interbreeding is rife, and has been for centuries.
If she won't move to Accy, tell her to stay north of Hadrian's Wall in Glasgow.

PMSL.
There is quite a few bloody foreigners living there already...meaning other Scots!
When I lived in Glasgow loads of people used to come up from Carlisle every weekend, because it is a bit like the back of beyond down there.
I wouldn't like to live there.

Er...it's a joke.
I've lived both in England and Scotland. I was just pointing out that compared to Carlisle, Glasgow is some sort of Promised Land.

and whats wrong with being scottish...??? and what the curse she wants to rod herself of ??
and moving 100 miles from glasgow isnt exactly getting away from all things scottish....
if she doesnt like anything scottish then maybe she/them/he should go live on an inhabited island where there can be no complaints...
