Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?
Read in a certain music paper back in the late 80's that a few of my favourite bands of the time were knocking back Malibou mixed with Baileys,so thought i'd give it a go & got in a bottle of each for that Xmas/new year. Can't remember what it tasted like but i was fast asleep in the pub, lunchtime new years day

Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?
My husband was working in Saudi Arabia and I went out to join him. Alcoholic drinks were (still are?) forbidden but he'd managed to get hold of some illegally distilled stuff. He'd got a recipe for a drink very similar to Bailey's and made a batch before I arrived. He poured me a glassful and stood back, smiling and pleased with himself, to watch me take the first sip. I tasted it and I couldn't help pulling a face - it was thin, watery and horrible.
It helps if you know the difference between condensed milk and evaporated. One's thick and sweetened - the other's not.

Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?
Early 80's in the Astronaut prior to a heavy night in the Apollo, my favourite used to be pernod and orange in a pint glass with a can of breaker poured into it. It tasted just like Jusoda but brought on blackouts so you couldn't have too many in any one night or people wouldn't speak to you the day after, and "friends" would do this

Re: What's the most unusual tipple you've ever had?
I was 16 working as a dishwasher in a local diner. Found some old wine in the cellar next to the oil furnace. Shared it with my Mates that night and got first fairly drunk then later very sick. Found out later that it had been forgotten down there for ~10 years and had probably gone quite bad. Yeah, I should say!
